Dr. Oleksandr Povazhnyak Commack

Dr. Alex Povazhnyak brings a diverse background in chiropractic care, rehabilitation, biochemistry, and massage therapy to Active Chiropractic Care and Active Auto Injury.

He earned a Master of Science in Biochemistry from Lviv Polytechnic National University before completing his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Texas Chiropractic College. His postgraduate training includes Board Certification in Chiropractic Physiotherapy and extensive education in musculoskeletal rehabilitation and chiropractic techniques.

Dr. Povazhnyak is trained in Diversified, Thompson, Gonstead, Chiropractic Biophysics (CBP), Sacro-Occipital Technique, Torque Release, and the FAKTR Rehabilitation System. His additional education in massage therapy, including medical massage, further enhances his understanding of soft-tissue injuries and comprehensive musculoskeletal care.

This multidisciplinary background allows Dr. Povazhnyak to bring extensive knowledge and experience to our team, enhancing our ability to care for patients with spinal conditions, musculoskeletal injuries, sports-related conditions, and injuries resulting from automobile accidents.
